Karate College weekend is a time to learn, network, and have fun. Groups of five, ten, or more should select a group leader to insure discounted fees and convenient check-in times.
New Location: Participants may reach the Radford Recreation Center, conveniently located on the corner of Second and George streets (closer to the hotels), by taking Interstate 81 to Exit 109. Follow Route 177 for four miles toward Radford University. If you fly into the Roanoke airport (Roanoke, Va.), allow for a 50-minute drive to Radford. Shuttle service to local hotels is available from the airport. We have exclusive use of the center for Karate College weekend.

Pre-registration by mail: Space is limited. Campers should pre-register before June 1, 2010. To insure a reservation send a check or money order in the amount of $99 (non-refundable) to: Karate College, P. O. Box 402, Christiansburg VA 24068. If your pre-registration payment is received before June 1, 2010, you will receive a discount on the official camp T-shirt or patch!
Price: The pre-registration camp price for instruction Thursday through Sunday is just $229 (before June 1, 2010). After June 1, 2010, the regular price of $249 will apply.
Group rates: Groups of 10 or more may qualify to receive discounted rates. Leaders of groups of five or more camp participants should call for information about discounted rates for camp instruction, (540) 381-2025. To register as a group, a group leader must collect all applications and registration fees and mail them in one package.
Martial Arts School Sponsors: New for 2010 we are recruiting Martial Arts School Sponsors. For a fee of $1,600 we will list your school as an official sponsor of Karate College. You can use the Karate College logo in your local advertisements and we will list your school name on our web page. We will provide you with a booth at the trade show (retail value $1,600) to sell your products or promote your school, and you will receive nine free full admissions to the camp (retail value $2,241) to resell at the regular price. The total value of the sponsorship package is $3,841. Call 540-381-2025 to become an official Karate College School Sponsor. A few schools may qualify as a dual gold medal sponsor (18 campers) or a triple gold medal sponsor (27 campers).
Martial arts convention and trade show: Various artists will offer T-shirts, videos, books, weapons, and other items for sale at special seminar rates. Vendor rates are $1,600 per table. On Saturday June 27th we will open the trade show to the public. We will have special awards and demos Saturday evening as part of camp graduation. Come prepared to shop for various martial arts items!
What to bring: Bring cameras, workout clothes, sparring gear, escrima sticks, and boxing gloves (Several instructors use boxing gloves.).
Early check-in: Karate College check in will begin Thursday, June 24, at 4 p.m. at the new Karate College location in the Radford Recreation Center. Easy to locate, from the Radford Inn just turn left at the second stop light onto Hammett, right on Noblin, left on Second Ave., and right onto George. If you are staying on campus drive straight up the hill to Hammett and proceed. Instruction begins Thursday, June 24, at 6 p.m. You’ll have plenty of time to check in, locate your hotel or campus dorm room, and attend classes. Classes continue Friday morning at 9 a.m. You will need a pass to enter classes.
Friday check-in: If you miss Thursday check-in we will be open for registration at 12 p.m. Friday at the Radford Recreation Center. Classes will be in progress all day on Friday. You will need a pass to attend classes.
How to register: Complete the application, sign the waiver, and enclose your check or money order (made out to Karate College) for just $99 non-refundable deposit (Pay the balance at check-in.), and mail to: Karate College, P. O. Box 402, Christiansburg VA 24068. All confirmations and further information will be mailed/e-mailed to camp registrants during the first week of June.
Note: To register as a group, a group leader must collect all applications and registration fees to be mailed in one package.
Lodging: Note that Karate College instruction is processed separately from lodging reservations. Do not send lodging requests to Karate College. Below are the 2010 price guidelines. For the best conference rate, campers may stay on the Radford University campus for as little as $18.76 (non-air-conditioning room, double occupancy suite), or $29.86 for AC suite (double occupancy). Special Karate College rates are available at The Best Western Radford Inn, (540) 639-3000, for $75 (plus tax), and Super 8 Motel Radford, (540) 731-9355, has available a limited number of Karate College rooms for $55 (plus tax) per night. You must mention Karate College for the reduced conference rates.
